Monitoring mechanisms placed on the island of Dh. Kudahuvadhoo due to COVID-19 has been lifted by the government.
The mechanisms were placed on the island on April 21, and government officials announced in a press conference tonight that the mechanisms have now been lifted.
Authorities also announced that the mechanisms placed on the Maldiviana Safari boat were also lifted.
National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez stated that 253 locations were currently under monitoring mechanisms, including 21 islands without including Kudahuvadhoo.
The Maldives has confirmed 73 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours taking the total for the whole country to 214.
