Ministry of Finance and Treasury announced seeking contractors to build 50 housing units in Dh. Kudahuvadhoo.
The units built under this project will be done on a design-and-build basis.
Speaking with Sun, the president of Kudahuvadhoo council Ibrahim Fikuree said that the people’s biggest dream regarding housing was land plots being issued.
“The council is trying hard to see if land plots can be issued from the island. And then the government developing 50 housing units would be additional progress to this.”
However, Fikuree did note that he does not believe 50 units was an ideal number in meeting the demand of the residents of Kudahuvadhoo.
According to the announcement made by the ministry, those interested in this project are required to pay MVR 260,000 as a bid security, and that the time limit for this is 148 of opening.
Bidding will be opened on February 14.
In addition to the units in Kudahuvadhoo, Finance Ministry has also announced seeking contractors for 400 units in Fuvahmulah and 30 units in Sh. Komandhoo.
