A facility in the suburb of Hulhumale’ being built specifically to treat Covid-19 patients his nearing completion, government spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez has said.
What remains of the facility include the finishing works and installation of equipment, said Mabrouq.
The facility is being built in Neighborhood 2, near Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumale’. It will have a capacity of 300 beds and will set the government back by MVR 40 million.
The government has previously estimated that the facility would be completed by April 21. The estimated date of completion has now been moved to the end of the month.
MNDF officers are mainly involved in the work to complete the facility in addition to employees of state-owned enterprises.
The nearby Tree Top Hospital could also be possibly turned into a medical facility after fruitful discussions with the government.
