A policy to award tender projects for construction has been formed by the government.

In an announcement made on April 1, the Finance Ministry stated that it had decided to consider more factors in addition to evaluating bid documents for awarding projects through the National Tender Board to registered parties of the construction industry.

The notice states that the awardee must be registered as an active construction industry party. The projects can only be awarded to companies who do not exceed the number of projects (specified in the policy) that can be undertaken which is base don the grade level of the company.

The projects would include construction work awarded by the state institutions before the submission of proposals for the new project and the projects that have not yet received a certificate of completion upon the date of submission for the new project. The policy does not include tenders open to the public, according to the announcement.
