Street vendor’s stall burns down in fire in Hithadhoo

A street vendor’s stall in Hithadhoo, Addu City, has burned down in a fire in the early hours of Sunday.

According to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), its Southern Area S. Hithadhoo Fire Station was informed of the fire at approximately 5:45 am.

The stall had completely burned down by the time the firefighters put out the fire, said MNDF.

The case is currently under investigation in a joint-investigation by MNDF and Maldives Police Service.

It has yet to be established whether the fire had been an act of arson, or had been caused by another reason.

No arrests have been made in connection to the fire, as of yet.
