Maldives Meteorological Services (Met Office) has warned that some areas of the country might experience bad weather including rough seas and sea swells in the next 24 hours.

The adverse weather will mostly affect islands in the central and northern regions of the country while the southern atolls of the country will experience moderately rough weather. Met Office officials warned travelers to take caution when traveling.

Some islands have already experienced sea swells including R. Kinolhas and Inguraidhoo.

A speed boat from Noonu atoll capsized due to rough weather last night and a person traveling on the boat drowned.
