Sumon Mia has previously confessed to the murder and recalled the incident in court. Sumon said that he killed Isse, due to marriage problems caused by Isse.
Sumon said that he went to the ice plant with a 12-foot rope to kill Isse. However, he realized that the rope would not be enough to kill Isse, who was sleeping and took a foot-long knife from the room where Isse was sleeping.
Sumon said that Isse had woken up before Sumon could attack him. The resulting tussle saw wounds inflicted on both before Sumon stabbed Isse twice in the neck. When this did not kill Isse, Sumon stabbed Isse a final time after dragging him to the floor. Sumon later left Isse with the knife and rope beside him.
Isse was found murdered on July 16, 2018.
