National Pay Commission has announced the new civil servant salary structure will come into effect in 2020.
The National Pay Commission, in a statement signed by its chair, Finance Minister Ibrahim Ameer, announced that the commission had completed research on the current civil servant salary structure, and was currently working on establishing ranks and criteria for the 96 professions in civil service.
It said that the ranks and criteria will be based on its research into the current salary structure, as well as international best practice.
“The commission is scheduled to establish the new civil servant salary structure, encompassing of the salary for each of these professions, and bring it to effect next year,” announced the National Pay Commission.
The commission has grouped all the civil service professions and published a Maldives Public Service Job Family Model on its website.
National Pay Commission reports its also working on establishing standards and policies for allowances to civil servants in order to bridge the current disparity in allowances to civil servants.
