Japan has provided equipment worth MVR 41 million to the Maldivian health sector.

The equipment was handed over at a special ceremony held at STELCO by the Japanese ambassador to the Maldives Ms. Keiko Yanai and was received by Health Minister Abdulla Ameen.

These equipment included dental X-ray machines, dental units, ultra sound scanners, portable ultra sound scanners, transportable incubators, portable digital X-ray and emergency transport ventilators.

The Maldives will also receive 21 paramedic ambulances from Japan next month.

Japan has been a steady supporter of the Maldivian health sector and provided equipment worth MVR 14 million in 2017 as well. Health Minister Ahmed Ameen noted in yesterday's ceremony that the Maldivian health sector was becoming better due to the aid by Japan.
