Search operation underway to find missing tourist diver

The Coastguard has launched a search and rescue operation to find a female tourist diver reported missing from a safari this Sunday.

MNDP’s chief spokesperson, Major Ibrahim Azim says the tourist was reported missing at 1:09 pm this Sunday.

She was one of 22 tourists who travelled to the Kandooma Thila on safari OCA M 7S, and was reported missing after she failed to surface after her dive.

A team of divers from the MNDF Male’ Area Coastguard Squadron has been mobilized for the search and rescue operation.
