President visits the Renewable Energy Industrial Zone in Xinjiang Province

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has visited the Renewable Energy Industrial Zone in Xinjiang Province of China, as part of his current visit to China.

According to the President’s Office, the President and First Lady first visited the Urumqi Industrial and Technical Development Corporation. They were received by the executives and staff of the corporation.

At the centre, the President and First Lady viewed a 3D presentation of the development of the Urumqi zone, and some products being manufactured there.

The President’s Office said that the President also visited the Gold Wind Tech Company, a company specialised in the production of wind turbines. Upon arrival, the President was welcomed by the executives and all the staff of the company.

During his tour of the factory, the executives of the company demonstrated the generation of electricity with the wind turbines.
