Adhaalath Party has said that Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) should stop the unrest on the streets and put an end to harassing members of the public, to prove their sincerity.
Adhaalath made this comment in a press statement released today.
They welcomed President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik’s decision not to include MDP in the current unity government.
According to Adhaalath Party, MDP’s purpose behind wanting to join the government while they continue to call senior officials of the government ‘traitors’, is to create strife and enmity within the government.
They also pointed out that MDP had rejected the numerous invitations extended previously by the President to join the government.
Adhaalath Party said that MDP’s request to join the government is questionable, because for the past six months, they have done everything possible to obstruct the government and the country’s economic progress.
Adhaalath Party stressed that they will not tolerate MDP’s efforts to obstruct the Court process for the people responsible for the arson attacks and other crimes on 8 February.
