Boat carrying cargo sinks off the coast of Hulhumale’

A boat carrying construction aggregate has sunk off the coast of Hulhumale’.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) says the Coastguard received report of the sinking boat, Dhuveli, at 11:34 am this Monday.

There were four people onboard the boat when it sank.

The status of the four people is unclear at this point.

Coastguard officers are currently at the scene.
