Mega Global Air Service (Mega Maldives) has been ordered to pay over USD 1 million in unpaid airport service charges and airport development fees to the State.
The ruling in the lawsuit was issued by Civil Court last Tuesday.
Mega Maldives has been ordered to pay USD 1.014 million in unpaid airport service charges and airport development fees, and an additional MVR 2,800 fine to Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) within 10 months.
Mega Maldives declared bankruptcy and shut down its operations in face of financial troubles in May, 2017; and is currently in the process of liquidation.
Multiple lawsuits have been filed against the company by the State, business partners, and employees.
