Ambassador refutes report of 2 missing Maldivians in Lanka

Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Umar Abdul Razzaq has refuted reports two Maldivian citizens have gone missing in Sri Lanka.

Umar reported to ‘Sun’ that the rumors are false, and that the embassy is in contact with the two citizens in question.

“Report of them being missing is false. The embassy has contacted them. And the information has been shared with the family,” said Umar.

He said that the two Maldivian citizens in question are currently on their way to the Bandaranaike International Airport to return to Maldives.

Neighboring Sri Lanka has declared a state of emergency following the terror attack on Sunday, and has urged everyone living in the country to limit venturing out into public locations.
