Maldives Police Service reports its Traffic Management Department issued stickers against 968 vehicles during the one-week period from April 6-12.
Weekly statistics of the Traffic Management Department released by the agency this Sunday shows 569 vehicles were checked by officers during the past week. 59 of the drivers were operating vehicles without their driving license on them, while 113 vehicles were operated by drivers who do not possess a driver’s license.
The police also stopped two underage drivers and identified 14 cases of over speeding.
The statistics also show 58 roadside accidents in the Greater Male’ Area were reported to the agency during the past week; seven of which resulted in injuries.
The police towed 17 motorcycles and four four-wheeled vehicles in the past week; and identified two cases of operating a motorcycle without the regulatory helmet.
