15 out of 21 suspects arrested for drug trafficking during a raid on a residence in Male’ City last Saturday have been remanded to police custody.
12 of the suspects have been remanded to five days at a detention facility determined by Ministry of Home Affairs and another three suspects have been remanded to three days at a detention facility determined by Ministry of Home Affairs.
Maldives Police Service reports the minor and an additional five suspects who were arrested in the raid have been released.
The raid was conducted on a residence located in the Maafannu district of Male’ City based on intel of a drug trafficking operation at 10:52 am on Saturday morning.
21 people were arrested in the raid, including a minor and a foreign national.
The police, during the raid, confiscated 38 rubber packets containing what is believed to be narcotic substances.
The case is under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Department of MPS.
