MVR 13,150 has been stolen in a robbery at the G. A. Maamendhoo Magistrate Court.
Robbers had broken into the building by tampering with the windows, and cleared the cash stored inside the safe.
Maldives Police Service says the robbery was reported to the agency at 8 am this Thursday.
A team from the Maamendhoo Police Station has been mobilized to investigate the robbery. But the agency is yet to confirm any arrests.
A similar crime took place in R. Maakurath last Friday when robbers hit the Maakurath Magistrate Court, Maakurath Council headquarters and Maakurath Health Center all in one night – stealing over MVR 100,000.
Six suspects have been arrested in connection with the Maakurath serial robberies – including a 62-year-old security guard at the council headquarters.
