Gan Police arrest five drug suspects

In an operation run by the Gan Police, three men and two boys have been taken into police custody in suspicion of drugs.

Police today said that last Tuesday, they received information that a ferry lying in Dhoni Service at the harbor of Laamu Gan, had in its possession drugs. The Police raided the place and they found 15 rubber packets and 8 pieces of cellophane suspected to be drugs, from two of the people taken into custody. The Police have revealed that two of the men arrested were of 22 years of age.

Police also confirmed that last Friday, after receiving information that a ferry lying in Dhoni Service at the harbor of Laamu Fonadhoo, had in its possession drugs, police inspection resulted in the arrest of two boys after it was discovered that they have in possession two bags and 8 pieces of cellophane containing a substance which is suspected as drugs.

Police also confirmed those 24 rubber packets which contain a substance suspected as drugs, had been found in a Marlboro brand cigarette box which a man on the same boat had thrown into the sea. A 23 year old man have arrested in the case.

Even last Thursday, after having being informed that drugs were located at Laamu Gan, Stage area, the police raided the place and found 8 packers suspected as drugs. Police reveal that no one has been arrested regarding this incident.

Police have stated that all of the 47 rubber packets and the 16 pieces cellophane are in the police custody.
