The Ugail Foundation – founded by Professor Hassan Ugail – and the Maldives Open Source Society has announced collaboration to launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) program in Maldives.
The launching event of the R&D AI Accelerator program is scheduled to be held at the Maldives National University (MNU) on January 19.
At the event on January 19, participants will generate and filter ideas to formulate projects which have the potential for tangible outcomes.
Project teams will be formed during the event to move to the next phase, the six-month incubation program.
Each project team will receive a monthly stipend of MVR 20,000, with systematic follow-up during the entire six months between teams, organizers and mentors.
Professor Ugail will personally help each project team develop their ideas.
At the end of the six-month incubation program, each team will present their project outcomes with a public demonstration and discuss their intended commercial route for the projects.
Though the event is mostly focused on tech and skilled individuals, it is also open to business developers, aspiring entrepreneurs and students.
