ACC concludes 27 cases, orders State offices to recover MVR 2B in missing funds

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has instructed State offices to recover MVR 2.024 billion in missing funds identified after investigations conducted the first three quarters of 2018.

ACC reports the instructions is based on 27 cases the commission investigated from January to September 2018.

The commission said it also forwarded four cases to the Prosecutor General’s Office for criminal prosecution within the first two quarters of 2018.

The State is owed MVR 1.8 billion in the four cases.

The missing State funds identified by ACC in the third quarter alone amounts to MVR 2.2 million, reports ACC.
