The Pick Maldives Picture Storybook is one of the most successful publications to be released by Maldives in recent times to promote Maldives as a tourist destination directly to customers, via the B2C (Business to Customer) marketing model.

The Pick Maldives Picture Storybook was released at the ITB Berlin on March 8, 2018, where it proved to be a huge success at one of the world’s biggest travel and tourism fairs.

The souvenir-quality book is currently being delivered to the world’s top travel bloggers, social media stars and VIP journalists.

There is no rest for the founder of Pick Maldives initiative, Riaayath Abdul Majeed, even with its immense success.

Riaayath is currently in Germany to meet with the country’s movers and shakers.

He has already met with the likes of Pinterest influencer and blogger Nina Bungers, food blogger Annelina Waller, Instagram influencer and photographer Julian and Max Kersting – the co-founder of Harper – a leading social media influencer in Germany, Italy, US and Costa Rica.

Riaayath noted that Germany is one of oldest, biggest and most constant markets for Maldivian tourism. He said he believes in the importance of the role of influential figures in the global travel business in maintaining the German market.

He said the purpose of his visit to Germany is to increase the confidence in Maldives through the influential figures he meets during such visits.

Riaayath said that during the meetings, he answered questions regarding Maldives, explained the ranks of tourist resorts and hotels in Maldives, and discussed ways they can further promote Maldives as a tourist destination.

“Every meeting with influencers lasted two-three hours. They had a lot of questions. I also met with Sascha Schulz of the first German Influencer Marketing Academy and discussed numerous issues in a meeting which lasted about two hours. I will introduce Maldives to as many people as I can and meet as many good influencers as I can to increase the confidence in Maldives,” said Riaayath.

Riaayath said there were a lot that can be accomplished by working with the Influencer Marketing Academy. He said he wishes to work with influencers in sales-oriented marketing in the long-run.

The Maldivian Embassy in Germany held a special event last Tuesday, during which Riaayath, along with the Maldivian Ambassador to Germany, Jameela Ali Khalid inaugurated a Maldives FAQ leaflet and a website on the service.

Riaayath said that tourists who wish to visit Maldives will be supplied with answers to all their questions under one platform via the Maldives FAQ website.

He said the language supported by the website will expand to include German, Russian and Chinese within one month, and will further expand to include 10 languages by the end of 2018.

“The Pick Maldives brand is publishing a souvenir-quality photobook. It won’t have much text. So people with little knowledge of Maldives will benefit from services connected to Pick Maldives like the Maldives FAQ. The site has been designed so questions can also be submitted. Chosen questions will be published on the website along with answers. We will market Maldives FAQ through Pick Maldives. I am very pleased Ambassador Jameela inaugurated this brand,” said Riaayath.

He said he also met with Gernot B. Frank, the founder of e-Concierge, which has over one million page views, and gifted him with a Pick Maldives Photo Storybook.

One week ahead of the inauguration of Maldives FAQ, Riaayath met with Ambassador Jameela to discuss ways they can work together to further promote Maldivian tourism.

He took special note of the support and cooperation by Ambassador Jameela and staff at the Embassy.

Leaflets of the Maldives FAQ will be distributed with copies of the Pick Maldives Picture Storybook.
