White Alert issued nationwide

A White Weather Alert has been issued nationwide expecting torrential rain and thunderstorms across the country. 

MET Office said that rain is expected across the country and winds are expected to be at 40 mph during showers. The White Alert is issued from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. 

Weather forecast for today show rain across the country with winds up to 13 mph from East-South East in the southern atolls and winds at 17 mph in other areas. 

Seas are expected to be calmer in the southern atolls except during showers and generally rough in other areas.
