CHSE principal conferred award by Indian government

Principal at Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) of Maldives, Aishath Sofoora has been presented with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Distinguished Alumni Award.

The award was presented to Sofoora at a function held in New Delhi, India, by the Minister of External Affairs of India, Sushma Swaraj.

Sofoora is the first Maldivian to be conferred the award.

Director at the Indian Cultural Center in Maldives, Mohamed Khalid reported to “Sun” earlier that the award is conferred to select individuals who received their education under the ICCR scholarships awarded by the Indian government.

Sofoora travelled to India to accept the award on April 12. She will return to Maldives on April 19, and is scheduled to tour Jaipur, Agra and Bangalore during the trip.
