Closed hearings for Chief Justice and Ali Hameed

The hearings in the trial of the Chief Justice, Abdulla Saeed and Supreme Court Judge, Ali Hameed set for 3 p.m. today at the Criminal Court has been held behind closed doors. 

The court did not say as to why they had a closed hearing. Today's hearing was on the charge of influencing official duties brought up against the two. 

Obstruction of state duties charge against the Chief Justice says that he ordered his employees to discontinue the use of the government e-letter management system. 

Both the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court Judge are charged with obstruction of justice. They were both arrested after the State of Emergency declared in February and now remain in custody until the end of the trial.
