The rights of all cannot be sacrificed to safeguard the rights of one or two, says Minister of Home Affairs, Azleen Ahmed.
Speaking in an interview to Public Service Media over the phone this Saturday afternoon, Minister Azleen said the rights of others cannot be sacrificed for the rights of just one or two people, and that the State will give no room for the rights of all to be compromised.
Azleen said the current administration will not deviate from the law, and that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom remained “steadfast in performing his religious, national and presidential duties.”
The Home Minister said in the interview that holding protests for the purpose of creating chaos in the streets was against the law, and appealed to the public to exercise the freedom of assembly as stated in the law.
