Head of Maafushi Prison resigns

Director of Prisons at K. Maafushi Prison, Salman Rasheed has resigned from his post.

“Sun” has been informed Salman resigned from his post last Friday night. His resignation has been accepted by the Maldives Correctional Service.

A senior official at Maldives Correctional Service has confirmed Salman’s resignation to “Sun”.

The specific reason for Salman’s resignation is unclear at this point as the media official at Maldives Correctional Service was not immediately reachable.

Salman reported to some media sources that he resigned for personal reasons. He also commented that he did not want to remain in the post at the moment.
