Coast Guard mobilized after MIFCO boat starts sinking

Maldivian Coast Guard has been mobilized after a fish boat of the Maldives Industrial Fishing Company has started sinking near Lhaviyani Felivaru.

Information Officer of the MNDF, Captain Ibrahim Azim said that a MIFCO fish boat near Felivaru was reported around 3:30 p.m. to be taking in water.

Captain Azim said that the Northern Area Command is providing assistance to the vessel with divers.

He said that there are a total of 24 people are on board the vessel with 10 locals and 14 expatriates.

And none of them were injured in the incident.
