1 in critical condition after accident in Hulhumale’

Two people have suffered extensive injuries – leaving one of them in critical condition, in a traffic collision which took place in Hulhumale’ last Saturday night.

Ashiya Solih, the media official at Aasandha Company, which runs the Hulhumale’ Hospital, reported the two young men injured in the collision were taken to the hospital.

“One is in critical condition,” said Ashiya, adding that the two were siblings.

She said the elder of the two, the 25-year-old wasn’t breathing when he was taken to the hospital.

She reported last Saturday night that the Hulhumale’ Hospital was preparing to transport him to ADK Hospital in Male’ City with one of the hospital’s doctors and nurses.

The second man is reported to be in stable condition.

Police media official said the collision was reported to the authority at 8:50 pm. He said the collision took place on the Hithigas Magu, near MI College.

The collision took place between a double-deck lorry and a motorcycle. The young men injured in the collision were on the motorcycle. The police media official said the authority has not received details of the injuries to the lorry driver.
