Developed inside the UNESCO biosphere reserve in B. Atoll, luxury resort Vakkaru Maldives has been opened to tourists.
The resort was developed by Sri Lankan company Nawaloka Construction, and is a 25-minute seaplane ride away from Velana International Airport. The resort was opened for business in late December.
The 125-room resort has beach villas, water villas and luxury suites crafted using natural materials to showcase the natural beauty and culture of Maldives.
The resort has six categories of beach villas, four categories of over water bungalows, and a four-room over water pool residence.
Vakkaru Maldives has two bars, two international cuisine restaurants, one Italian restaurant and one Asian restaurant.
It also has a water sports and dive center, yoga facilities, and a spa.
