Smoking prohibited at harbor food court

Contractors of the food court at the south west of Male' City, the State Trading Organization (STO), has said that smoking will be prohibited at the food court.

An official from STO told Sun Media that the decision to ban smoking at the food court was made after discussing with the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

There are four blocks at the food court. Two of them towards Ameenee Magu and two towards Izzuddeen Magu. Previously, it was said that smoking would be allowed at the blocks towards Izzuddeen Magu.

A total of 14 units will be available at the blocks to Ameenee Magu and 12 for the blocks at Izzuddeen Magu.

STO said that tenants will be able to customize the kitchens. But the kitchen area would not be allowed for anything besides, cooking, food display, serving, storage and payments.

The company said that they would be providing tables, chairs, benches and dustbins for the common areas will be provided.

The official from the STO said that the opening date for the food court remains undecided.
