Colombo City Center: Lanka’s 1st international mall to open in May

Sri Lanka, being Maldives’ closest neighbor, caters to hordes of weekend shoppers from Maldives. A large number of Maldivians are particular to top, branded products. However, outlets by high-end brands are few, both in Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The main sponsor for Maldives Living Expo 2018; Colombo City Hotel is a mixed development property, which once complete, will include a mall with outlets by multiple international brands: Sri Lanka’s first international branded mall.

TOP INTERNATIONAL BRANDS

“It’s going to have the first international branded mall. If you want Apple, Mac… it will be there. Hugo Boss, Armani, Mothercare… It’s going to be there,” said Nirupa Peris, CCC’s General Manager – Residential Sales.

The 47-story CCC is a joint venture between joint venture between Sri Lanka’s Abans Group and Singapore’s Silver Needle Hospitality.

It is being developed in Colombo 2, and is close to Nawaloka Hospital and Beira Lake.

The mall will have 100 high-end outlets.

“We have planned for 100 Units. 100 high-end units. Also, ODEL, Avitare… Sri Lankan high-end brands will have specialized floors,” said Peris.

The mall, which is scheduled to open in May, will also have a 700-seater food court run by popular Singapore chain “Food Republic of Singapore.” And will have Cineplex and Multiplex run by Scope Cinema.

APARTMENTS AND HOTEL

Singapore’s NextHotels will run a 163-room hotel in nine floors of the CCC. And the top floors will have a total of 193 apartments – with a sky lounge for residents on the 43rd floor.

“Maldivians can look at investments in terms of purchasing residences. Because right now for a limited period we're giving rental guarantees for two years. That’s at a 7 percent per annum on the purchase price,” said Peris.

The CCC – with its view of Beira Lake and the Indian Ocean is scheduled to be complete before the end of 2018. Information on opportunities available at the CCC will be provided at the Maldives Living Expo 2018 – which will be held at the National Art Gallery in Male’ City from February 15 – 17.
