Housing Ministry orders three restaurants at Artificial Beach to close down

Following plans to develop the the Henveiru Artificial Beach in Male' City, the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has ordered three restaurants at the area to close down and clear the premises.

The order was given in a letter to the restaurants from the Ministry, signed by the State Minister at the Housing Ministry, former Commissioner of Police, Hussain Waheed. Sun Media has acquired a copy of the letter.

The letter sent to the restaurants yesterday orders to close down and clear the premises by 30 April 2018.

The three restaurants ordered to close down are the three popular restaurants, Dine-More, Break Water and Blue Bay Restaurant.

The owner of one of the restaurants told Sun Media last night that they were surprised that the Ministry's sudden order to clear the premises and are working to resolve the issue via talks.
