Sheikh Nasrulla charged for arranging pilgrimages using deception

Former Principal of Arabiyya School, Sheikh Nasrulla Mustafa has been pressed with criminal charges for arranging Hajj pilgrimages for four individuals using deception.

An official from Prosecutor General’s Office reported to “Sun” that two charges against Nasrulla over the case were filed with the Criminal Court last week.

Nasrulla has been charged with:

- Doing something which requires permission, without the required permission

- Producing a false document

Nasrulla was arrested for the deception and forgery of the Sisilfar Hajj Group’s seal on November 28. He was granted conditional release the next day.

The four pilgrims were left stranded in Mecca but later granted assistance by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and brought back to Maldives.

Police have raided both Nasrulla’s apartment and his office at Arabiyya School for investigation into the case.
