5 Mihaaru journalists served summons over libel

Five journalists from Mihaaru News have been served summons for a Civil Court hearing on Tuesday over the defamation lawsuit filed by Sheikh Nasrulla Mustafa.

The five defendents; Fazeena Ahmed, Asima Nizar, Mohamed Yameen, Muizzu Ibrahim and Ahmed Abdulla Saeed have been ordered to attend the hearing at 10 am on Tuesday.

Nasrulla was arrested for using deception to sent four individuals on Hajj pilgrimage, and forgery of the Sisilfar Hajj Group’s seal on November 28. He was granted conditional release the next day.

Nasrulla in currently in the middle of trial for criminal charges. The charges include criminal negligence and production and use of pornographic material.

He has sued the five journalists for damages resulting from defamation.
