Adheeb's cell searched with suspicion of hiding phone

With suspicions of carrying a phone, the jail cell of the former Vice President, Ahmed Adheeb, in Dhoonidhoo has been searched.

Adheeb's lawyer confirmed that forensic officers searched the cell last night.

Sources say that the search was conducted with suspicion of having a phone in jail.

Police Media Official has refused to comment on the matter but did not deny it.

Police have previously searched the former Vice President's cell which aligned with a No Confidence vote against the Speaker of the Parliament.

Former Vice President Adheeb is currently serving a 33-year sentence.
