Vice President of Mundoo Council arrested

The Vice President of the Laamu Mundoo Island Council, Adam Nasif, along with another person, has been arrested for assaulting a woman.

The two people were arrested with a court order.

A member of the Mundoo Island Council told Sun Media last night that the incident took place last night and the Vice President of the Council is suspected in the crime.

Police Media Official said that two men were arrested in Mundoo last night regarding an assault. No further details were offered.

The Council member said that when the woman involved in the attack was taken to the Mundoo Health Center around 9 p.m. last night, the hospital advised that she be taken to the Gan Regional Hospital due to the extent of the injuries to her head. And so she has been transferred to the Gan Regional Hospital.

He said that an argument took place between the Nasif and the woman yesterday evening at the island's harbor area.

Right now the identity of the second man who was placed in custody is unclear at this time.
