13-year-old injured in traffic collision in Addu, dies

The 13-year-old injured in the traffic collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck on the Addu City Link Road has passed away.

Sun Media has learned that the 13-year-old boy injured in the collision which took place this morning around 9:50 a.m. on the Hithadhoo Link Road, is Arusham Ibrahim of Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo.

The child died while under going treatment at the Hithadhoo Regional Hospital for the head trauma sustained in the traffic collision.

Acting Head of Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, Mohamed Najeeb said that two people were injured in the traffic collsion this morning aside from the 13-year-old, and it was the young man driving the motorcycle at the time of the collision.

Najeeb said the 13-year-old boy had a sub-cranial hemorrhage and was being prepared to be transfered to Male' City when he died.

Police Media Official said that the 21-year-old driver of the motorcycle is also being treated at the hospital.
