President back in Male’ after tour of northern atolls

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has arrived back in Male’ City after his tour of islands in N. Atoll, B. Atoll and Lh. Hinnavaru.

He arrived back in Male’ City after his three-day tour this Tuesday afternoon.

The President, during his tour, visited N. Maalhendhoo, N. Holhudhoo, N. Velidhoo and N. Hen’badhoo on Sunday.

He inaugurated harbors at Maalhendhoo, Holhudhoo and Velidhoo, inaugurated the mosque financed by Saudi Arabian government in Maalhendhoo, and inaugurated sewerage services in Hen’badhoo.

He then traveled to Lh. Hivvarau whether he inaugurated the USAID-funded clean drinking water supply system in the island.

Next, he headed to B. Atoll and visited B. Kendhoo, B. Eydhafushi and B. Thulhaadhoo. He inaugurated the harbor at Kendhoo and then travelled to B. Eydhafushi where he took part in the ceremony to mark the completion of the land reclamation project and beach protection project in the island.

His last stop was B.Thulhaadhoo where he inaugurated the island’s harbor and took part in the ceremony to mark completion of the beach protection project in the island.

He was accompanied on the trip by leader of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), Ahmed Siyam Mohamed, deputy leader of MDA, Ahmed Mauroof, Cabinet ministers and MPs.
