Civil Court has ruled in favor of the decision to terminate Shammoon Hameed from his post as Secretary-General of Human Rights Commission of Maldives (HRCM).
Shammoon filed the lawsuit over his termination in November, 2016.
Civil Court ruled last Sunday that there was no evidence to back Shammoon’s claim his termination was unlawful.
Shammoon was terminated from his post following an amendment to HRCM’s regulation requiring a new SG to be appointed to the commission.
Shammoon was appointed SG of HRCM in February, 2012. He was terminated from the post in October, 2016.
