Maldives Investment Forum begins in Dubai

Maldives Investment Forum 2017 – a platform to share information regarding investment opportunities in Maldives for foreign investors – has begun in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

MIF 2017 was launched at the Sheikh Makhtoum Hall of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center by Maldivian Vice President Abdulla Jihad this Monday.

Speakers at the launching included UAE’s Economic Minister Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Vice Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Maldivian Vice President Abdulla Jihad, and Minister of Economic Development of Maldives Mohamed Saeed.

In his speech, UAE’s Economic Minister Sultan Saeed Bin Saeed Al Mansoor said UAE was interested in investing in Maldives.

The forum began with 350 participants. It will include an inaugural session between ministers from Maldives and UAE, a networking session for Maldivian and international businesses, and a gala dinner, says Ministry of Economic Development of Maldives.

Ministry of Economic Development said the forum will mainly focus on investment opportunities available from the Youth City in Hulhumale’ and regional airport development projects as well as opportunities for investment banks.

The first Maldives Investment Forum was held in Singapore in 2014, it was followed by a second one in China in 2015 and a third one in India in 2016.
