Police rescue expatriate kidnapped from Male’

Police have rescued an expatriate who had been kidnapped since last Monday.

The expatriate – a Bangladesh citizen – was abducted at approximately 11 am last Monday.

“Sun” has been informed the man was kidnapped by a group of fellow Bangladesh citizens.

The kidnappers claimed the man owed money to them for a loan he took. Authorities were alerted to the kidnapping after the kidnappers called one of his children demanding for the ownership of the man’s house to be changed to their name.

The man was kept kidnapped at a house in Male’ City. The kidnapping was reported to the authorities by the man’s child.

Police rescued the man last Tuesday evening. The police media official reported the authority arrested an expatriate in connection with the cast last Monday.
