The minor charged with murder of Mohamed Anas from R. Meedhoo has pled “not guilty” to the charge.
The 17-year-old boy is accused of stabbing Anas to death with a group of other individuals inside the Litus Service Center at Male’ City on the night of July 31.
An official from Juvenile Court reported to “Sun” that the boy pled “not guilty” to the charge at the hearing this Tuesday.
“The young boy is charged with murdering an individual using a sharp weapon with malicious intent. The boy pled not guilty to the charge,” said the official.
The court official said the boy has been given five days to provide a detailed response to the charge at the request of his attorney.
“The next hearing in the case will be held in the beginning of next month,” said the official.
Seven adult men have also been charged in the murder of Anas. Criminal Court has provided them time to hire legal representation.
