Sri Lanka: Red Alert lifted after 2 days

The meteorological red alert issued in Sri Lanka following the cyclonic storm, Ockhi, has been lifted after two days.

Maldivian Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mohamed Hussain Shareef, told Sun Media today that the weather in Sri Lanka is improving and so the alert has been lifted.

Ambassador Shareef said that the country still has a general notice of caution in effect.
