This Wednesday’s hearing in the RajjeTV arson attack trial has been cancelled.
The hearing was scheduled for 11 am this Wednesday. The reason for the cancellation is unclear at this point as “Sun” was unable to reach the media official at Criminal Court for information.
Mohamed Miadh from H. Gasva at Male’ City has been charged with terrorism for torching the BTK Building – which housed the RajjeTV headquarters – on October 6, 2013 at approximately 4:42 am.
The fire damaged all the equipment at the television station and the products stored at the Computer Plus warehouse – also situated at the building – beyond use.
The last hearing in the case was held on August 14. The court heard witness testimony from three of the five State witnesses during the hearing. The three witnesses were all police officers who attended to the fire at the scene of the crime.
The three police officers testifying to seeing a glove at the scene of the crime, but said they did not know the connection between the glove and the fire.
The court has already heard testimony from one State witness during a previous hearing, and was scheduled to hear testimony from the remaining State witness during this Wednesday’s hearing.
