95 liquor bottles found on boat connected to raided pickup

An additional 95 liquor bottles have been found onboard a speedboat linked to the pickup truck which was discovered carrying a large quantity of liquor bottles earlier this week.

The pickup truck was stopped by the police from Husnuheena Magu at Male’ City. Officers searched the vehicle and discovered 114 liquor bottles onboard.

They have a 25-year-old Maldivian man in custody in connection with the case.

The police said this Wednesday that the authority also discovered an additional 95 liquor bottles on board a speedboat believed to be linked to the pickup truck. The speedboat was harbored at the Hulhumale’ lagoon.

The authority has not disclosed whether anyone onboard the speedboat was arrested during the raid.

The case is under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Department.
