Delegation from Global Forum for Moderation visits Maldives

A delegation from the Global Forum for Moderation of Jordan has arrived in Maldives for an official visit at the invitation of Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Maldives.

Ministry of Islamic Affairs reports the purpose of the visit was to strengthen ties with relevant institutions, and hold discussions and Maldives to promote religious moderation, eliminate religious extremism, and combat terrorism.

The ministry reports the delegation has met with Commissioner of Police Ahmed Areef to discuss collaboration in fighting terrorism, and ways the institute can assist the Maldives in combating terrorism.
