Women of Addu City displayed their talents and craftmanship at the Island Festival held this Saturday, an event initiated by Women’s Development Committee on the second day of the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2017.
Items by the women of Addu City up for display and sale to the participants of SATA 2017 included artwork, craftwork and food items.
The festival was held this Saturday morning at the park in Maradhoo, Addu City.
President of Women’s Development Committee, Shehenaaz Rasheed reported the purpose of the festival was to market and sell products by the women of Addu City to the world.
Shehenaaz thanked SATA for the opportunity to display the talents of approximately 200 women at an event the scale of SATA.
She said Addu City was a prime tourist spot which with a colorful culture and talented people.
Participants of SATA praised the talents of the local women, which was accompanied by dance items by school children from Addu City.
