Umar discusses Presidential Election with Jumhooree Party

Former Home Minister, Umar Naseer has met with the Jumhooree Party (JP) regarding the Presidential Election 2018.

He told Sun Media tonight that the meeting was held at 12:30 p.m. today at the Jumhooree Office at Maafannu Kunooz.

The hour long meeting today wa attended by the Deputy Leader of JP, the MP for Kimidhoo constituency, Abdulla Riyaz,

Umar said that the meeting was not a discussion for candidate for the Presidential Election 2018 and declared that he would be running in the election.

Opposition has yet to decide on a candidate for the Presidential Election next year.

Leader of the PPM Parliamentary Group, Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik has previously said that an interim candidate for presidency is not part of the Constitution and said that the candidate indicated by the former President, Mohmaed Nashed is the former President of the Election, Fuad Thaufeeq.

The opposition has make no comments on the candidate so far.
