Minister: Supplementary budget is MVR 493 million

Minister of Finance and Treasury, Ahmed Munawar has said that the supplementary budget for the state spending this year totals to MVR 493 million.

The Finance Minister shared the amount of the supplementary budget with Sun Media while budget is set to be presented to the Parliament tomorrow. Minister Munawar is not yet state the main areas of focus in the budget.

First of the agenda for the Parliament sitting tomorrow at 9 a.m. is the supplementary budget which would be presented by the Minister himself.

Last year, the Parliament passed the biggest state budget to pass in the parliament in the history of the country, a grand MVR 26.7 billion. If the supplementary budget passes tomorrow, the total state spending budget for the year would be at MVR 27.1 billion.
